The Hornsea Storage Jar is a delightful gift, boxed in a matching design box. Designed by the talented Hornsea Design Director, John Clappison, back in 1967 for a collection of ceramic cruet sets. Magpie has brought this adorable pattern back to life from the original artwork found in the Hornsea Museum, using traditional Hornsea colors and creating new ceramic molds for a range of storage jars. Each jar is hand-glazed with natural cork lids for a unique touch. Founded in 1949 by brothers Colin and Desmond Rawson, Hornsea Potteries was a pioneering British brand that continued to make groundbreaking designs until its closure in 2000. Today, their legacy still inspires artists and illustrators, and Magpie has the special privilege of designing and releasing this second collection under official license with full access to the Hornsea Museum archives.
